The Food Service Worker I portions, packages and/or serves food items according to menu, diet protocol, portion control and temperature standards within an acute care or continuing care setting. The position is also responsible for washing and putting away dishes and cleaning kitchen and surfaces throughout the kitchen.

Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.Additional Qualifications:
Must be able to read and communicate in both written and oral English. Able to workwell in a team environment and adapt to change. Able to cooperate and use tact when dealing with others. Project a positive attitude and image. Able to demonstrate good attendance. Able to handle physical challenges, bending,pushing,pulling, lifting, varying temperatures,and noise. Learn and practice hygiene, materials handling, and safety procedures and standards. Strong organizational skills. Ability to exercise good judgement and make sound decisions. Should present in a friendly and helpful with residents and customers. All employees must act in a professional manner when representing Covenant Health.Preferred Qualifications:
Work related experience in institutionalized food services, restaurant setting preferred. Customer Service training or experience preferred. Food Safety Course an asset.”
