Job Description
“Duna Delicatessen at 5026 Victoria Dr, Vancouver, BC
is looking for a permanent full time specialty pastry baker and decorator to join our team.
The ideal candidate is able to create desserts in an artistic level for retail and for whole sale.
Salary range $22.50-$23.00 p/h.
The sucessful applicant will be required to
• Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders
• Bake mixed doughs and batters
• Frost and decorate cakes and other baked goods in an artistic level mostly using the Royal Icings Technique and frostings according to the shop needs or special customer orders
• Be able to work with chocolate – decorating cakes and sweets, covering, dipping, glazing etc.
• Make bonbons, chocolate bars and other sweets according to the shop specific needs
• Ensure quality of products meets established standards
• Draw up production schedule to determine type and quantity of goods to produce
• Purchase baking supplies
• May oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods
• May hire, train and supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff.
Applicants must speak English and should have:
• At least two years of commercial experience creating artistic desserts
• Completion of a college or other program related to artistic desserts
