Role Summary:
As a Banquet Server you will have a significant impact on the catering/banquets experience, by showcasing your superior guest service skills. Banquet Servers will ensure that service is efficient, friendly and genuine, all while ensuring our guests enjoy their event. Key responsibilities of the Banquet Server include set-up and tear-down of meetings and functions, food service execution and working in a safe manner.
The Banquet Servers responsibilities also include:
Provide a consistently high standard of service in an efficient and genuine manner as outlined in the banquet event order.
Serve various types of functions including, but not limited to, plated, buffet, breakfast, working lunches, coffee breaks, dinner, receptions and banquet bartending when required.
Ensure the effective implementation of and adherence to Delta’s Food & Beverage brand standards.
Demonstrate knowledge or group/function and offerings for the event.
Ensure a clean, safe and hazard-free work environment by maintaining the cleanliness of all heart and back of house areas.
Work with our Audio Visual department to ensure proper working of A/V as per the banquet event order.
Maintain a favourable working relationship with fellow colleagues in Banquets and the Kitchen, as well as with colleagues throughout the hotel/company.
Deal with guest requests/concerns while maintaining poise and a positive resolution driven attitude.
Work collaboratively with fellow leaders and colleagues to resolve customer concerns through service recovery.
Demonstrate our value of teamwork by genuinely cooperating and assisting fellow colleagues.
Read and connect with guests individually, tailoring service to each.
With customer safety always in mind, create a fun environment for customers.
Both at work and away from work, project a favourable image of the Restaurant.
Perform any additional duties as assigned by department leaders.
Physical Requirements:
Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
Frequent lifing and carrying up to 50 lbs.
Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting.
Frequent ascending and/or descending ladders and stairs
Qualifications:
Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends. Hours of work will be scheduled based on business volumes/operational demands and will vary.
Experience working in a customer/food service role is an asset. Demonstrated exceptional guest/customer service skills with a passion for anticipating and exceeding guest expectations.
Must have valid Smart Serve certification and legally able to serve alcohol in Ontario.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to enhance both the presentation and service standards throughout the function.
Results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well in a busy and demanding environment.
Must be energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated, with the ability to work effectively in an innovative and multi-tasked environment.
A background check will be required for this position.
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Please note that the hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
