A permanent full time position has become available in our Food & Beverage department. Reporting to the Director of Catering, you are an enthusiastic, organized, service oriented individual who will manage the day to day operations and functions of all aspects of assigned food & beverage events including preliminary revenue forecasting through to the successful completion of the event. This is a demanding position which includes frequent customer contact through the planning process as well as during events while clients are in-house. Flexible hours including some evenings and weekends are required. The ideal candidate has worked in a Manager role in a food and beverage operation and is now ready to expand their skill set within a high volume operation.
Job Description
Assist clients with menu selections, food quantity, space allocations and other event related requirements.
Analyze proposed programs to ensure space is suitable.
Consult with Chefs on special menus, additions or alterations.
Recommend wine selections and bar service.
Ensure that event orders for all functions are prepared and issued to the client and all relevant internal departments.
Manage all finances related to assigned accounts including forecasting, contract reviews and payment schedules.
Prepare F&B proposals.
Design floor plans using Meeting Matrix software.
Ensure clarity in all communications with stakeholders, both internal and external.
Job Skills and Requirements
Education: Hospitality Management Certificate or a Degree in a related field.
Experience: 5 years minimum experience in a catering/special events environment.
Microsoft Word, Excel, and EBMS (or similar catering/event management software) skills are essential.
Detail oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to handle significant number of tasks in a condensed time frame while prioritizing.
