“Continuous Improvement Specialist – Food Manufacturing
Apex Life Sciences is searching for a Continuous Improvement Specialist for a contract-to-hire position in the Food Industry. Our client is a food manufacturer specializing in sauces and dressings. This position is located in north Mississauga close to Pearson International Airport. This position will be working as part of the commercialization team to identify gaps, troubleshoot issues, develop processes and making changes to food products in manufacturing. This position is an excellent chance to join a growing company with a great team atmosphere.
Duties & Responsibilities:Work on Continuous Improvement and Optimization projects.Work as a member or a cross functional team.Investigate current processes for gaps, efficacy, areas for improvement and implement recommended changes.Coordination of cross departmental functions and maintaining project related documentation Qualify and communicate any ingredient changes to cross functional teamsTroubleshoot manufacturing issues and make recommendations for solutionsOversee first production runsProject management – from concept to implementationKeep projects on track to achieve set milestonesUnder guidance from Regulatory Affairs, preparing customer specifications, ingredient statements, and other regulatory documentsAssist with pricing preparation and review
Required Qualifications:1-2 years of R&D or laboratory experience in the food industry. Open to candidates with co-op experience or relevant educational preparation.University or College Degree in Food Science (preferred) or Engineering or a related field.Organized and able to handle multiple priorities at once.Independent worker able to work with minimal supervision but also able to work as part of a team.Able to work under time constraints.Sensory experience is an asset.Excellent problem solving skills.Food Safety knowledge – HACCP, GMP”
