Bethany Manor, a non profit, Christian, seniors housing complex is seeking a Part Time Assistant Cook.
Team focused applicants must enjoy working around older adults and be committed to providing a safe and healthy environment in a multi-building complex.
If you enjoy cooking, are a hardworking, dedicated individual and enjoy working with people than this may be the right job for you!
Working in a faith based Christian environment, the Assistant Cook will:
– prepare nutritious and appealing meals and desserts for residents (home-style meals- Entrees, Soups, Salads, Desserts mainly from scratch)
– Follow the department guidelines and food safety and sanitation codes
– Maintain a clean and safe working environment
– Work in a team environment as well as work independently
– Be Customer Service oriented, patient and kind
– Have the ability to meet the demands of this moderately physical role
– Have a superior work ethic, strong decision making and problem solving skills and a positive attitude

The position is for Part- Time with opportunity to pick up casual hours. There also may be opportunity for advancement to Full Time Status in the future.
This position requires scheduling during weekdays and weekends. Working every other weekend will be required.

The Applicant will have:
– Food Safe Certificate
– Minimum of Grade 10 education
– Criminal record check (abstract) required with vulnerable sector search
– Quantity Food or other cooking experience
– Journeyman Cook Certificate is considered an asset”
