Job Description
“Regina Food for Learning (RFFL) is a non-profit corporation, established in 1988, to oversee the development and implementation of child food service programs in Regina schools and neighbourhoods.
RFFL is looking for a dedicated employee responsible for snack, baking and other food preparation as required for numerous nutrition program locations in Regina schools. This position is based out of the Core Ritchie Neighbourhood Centre.
Key Duties and Accountabilities:
– Proven food preparation and kitchen skills
– Food Safe Level 1 course
– Responsible for working in a collaborative and effective manner with volunteers, the Food Service Coordinator and the General Manager.
– Responsible for overseeing volunteers.
– Responsible for baking or other food preparation as outlined on the menu or assigned by the Food Services Coordinator
– Responsible for all sanitation, safe food storage, and equipment security requirements.
Experience, Skills and Abilities
– Use and maintenance of a meat slicer
– Experience in large volume baking and food production
– Experience in utilizing product to its best economic potential
– Demonstrating respect and flexibility as we are working in a public building
– Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
– Must have the ability to follow recipes
– Speak and write fluent English
– Ability to work independently as well as in a cooperative team environment
– Driver’s license and access to a vehicle a must
– Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.”
