Reporting to the Director of Culinary Services/the Manager of Food Services, the Dietary Aide provides support to the set up, preparation, serving and clean up associated with all meal services in the Residence/Home.
Qualifications
The knowledge to be able to understand the proper food handling and storage procedures.
The ability to understand and follow-out orders so as to serve the food correctly and attractively according to specified portion control.
The ability to work accurately and quickly.
Must have an empathy for and ability to get along with the elderly and the handicapped.
Key Responsibilities
Loads, operates and empties dishwashers. Puts dishes away.
May clean cooking area. This includes work table surfaces, stoves, ovens, grills, food storage room and exhaust hood, etc.
May damp mop floors;
May clean other kitchen equipment such as blenders, refrigerators, dishwashers, etc.
Performs all duties in a clean and sanitary manner.
Is aware of the Resident Rights and Responsibilities and endeavors to respect and promote it.
Attends in-service as required in order to better serve the dietary needs of the residents.
Attends staff meetings as required to be aware of changes in lodge that have taken place.
Participation in the Quality Improvement Program.
Performs other duties and functions as requested.
