“Pastry Chef: Showcase your talents on Granville Island.
A Bread Affair is looking for an individual to assist our master baker to develop and produce a selection of sweet baked goods and viennoiseries. Working in our Granville Island bakery, you would be working directly with Tanya Belanger as she develops “best in the category” pastry products using organic and locally sourced ingredients from the rich food lands of British Columbia and beyond.
What you need to be successful:
– is a pastry arts graduate (or has demonstrated equivalent skills gained from experience);
– loves innovation and being on the cutting edge;
– is interested and motivated in recipe and product development;
– has strong skills for our selections of croissants, cakes & scones;
– is efficient;
– is a problem solver;
– works well in a team;
– has a good sense of humour;
– is looking to grow with a new business;
This is a daytime position and you will be home for family nightly. Shifts typically start at 7:00 or 8:00 am. The bakery is open 7 days a week and your schedule will include both weekday and weekend shifts. The working environment is supportive and skills upgrades are encouraged and paid for by the bakery.
