Morton’s Grille is located on the Mezzanine level of the Marriott Fallsview Hotel and Spa directly overlooking Niagara Falls. Our full service restaurant and bar provides an upscale, yet casual atmosphere. Whether our guests are traveling on business or taking a much needed vacation, our mission is to always exceed their expectations.
If you are a handson leader, will be cool under pressure, and are able to work in a team environment, then we would love to hear from you. We are looking for a Dining Room Manager with a true passion for food and an unrelenting drive to provide exceptional guest service.
Summary of Responsibilities
Accurately execute all Company initiatives and policies with improvement to quality, service, and operations.
Responsible for managing day-to-day operations and ensuring maximization of revenue by effectively managing reservations to ensure an optimal amount of covers during lunch and dinner service.
Understands employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees absence.
Engage in ongoing development of front of the house employees while holding them accountable for performance and maintaining standards.
This includes new hire orientation and performance evaluations; apply coaching and counseling to achieve desired employee behaviour that is consistent with company policies.
Leverage local relationships to drives sales.
Monitor daily labour/matrix and other payroll reports related to the time clock, hours worked, and overtime to ensure operational needs and goals are met of the Restaurant.
Manage beverage programs; ensure sufficient inventory, reconcile and order all beverage.
Follow up on sanitation, maintenance, security and prevention of injury from accidents to ensure the safety of guests and employees.
Oversee service and guarantee that all points of guest contact meet Morton’s Grille standards.
Assist the General Manager in recruitment.
Create schedules for the Front of the house employees.
Participate in and conduct pre-shift and management meetings that are motivating, effective, and timely.
Assist in overseeing midmonth and end of month inventory counts.
Serves as a guest service role model for the restaurant, sets an example of excellent customer service, and demonstrates appropriate service behaviors.
Overseeing the ordering of food and supplies.
Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Experience:
At least 5 years of Restaurant Management experience with a full service and structured dining establishment.
Understand financial statements and be able to accurately report financial information.
Must have good judgement
