Eligibility

Salary
The Bank offers a competitive total compensation package with starting salaries, based on qualifications, generally ranging between $39 843 and $44 270* (annually) (job grade 9).

*Where the Bank has needs for specialized skills, it may offer higher cash compensation to exceptional candidates.

About the position
As a Dining Room Server you will contribute to providing the day-to-day services for the Executive Department as part of the hospitality services offered for members of the Executive Group. With their knowledge, accuracy and efficiency, our servers provide the utmost satisfaction to our guests. You will work closely with the lead Server and the Executive Chef and report to the Senior Manager, Executive Services and Protocol.

Your future responsibilities
You must meet the highest standards of the trade using discretion, tact and diplomacy during all functions. You will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of all food and beverage requirements. With your solid knowledge of industry standards and requirements, you will be responsible for the room set up and tear down for events, including ensuring the table is set up properly and any requirements for the event are met, and coordinating the cleanup and proper storage of equipment. You will help maintain the related inventory and recommend necessary purchases. You will assist the Chef in various tasks, such as preparing and serving the daily meals and providing backup services in the kitchen as needed. You will contribute to establishing work procedures, schedules and quality checks to ensure that standards are met. You will train and supervise more junior or contractual staff, and you must have a clear understanding of all related health and safety regulations and ensure that all contractual staff have the same understanding and comply accordingly. Finally, you will maintain collaborative relationships with clients and suppliers in order to clarify the Bank’s needs and expectations as well as support operational activities.

Your knowledge and skills

experience in an executive kitchen environment

experience using Microsoft Word and Outlook

good problem-solving skills

strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a reputation for building and maintaining good relations with staff at all levels

demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective team member, to take initiative, to be proactive in anticipating and responding to client needs, and to manage multiple and changing priorities

ability to work well under deadline pressure while maintaining a focus on quality and detail

Assets

experience with document management (electronic filing)

Your education and experience

high school education, food handler certificate and a minimum of three years of relevant work experience
or

an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Additional information
Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
Eligible for secret clearance
English and French essential

linguistic requirement (minimum starting level): functional in second official language (training may be provided to help the selected candidate reach the required level of fully functional)
There will be no relocation assistance provided.

Ability to work occasional overtime hours.
