POSITION: Café Sales Associate – Summer Student Position
CURRENT LOCATION: Sources Connection Café – Surrey
CURRENT HOURS: 30-35 hr/wk
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are a social enterprise – an Intergenerational Café located at the South Surrey Community Recreation Centre. Our objective is to bring seniors and youth together in a working environment, where work experience, perspectives and opportunities can be shared and gained. All candidates must be willing to work and thrive in this environment.
QUALIFICATIONS – TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITES
* Provide friendly and efficient customer service to help build loyal clientele
* Explain menu items and assist customers in the selection of specialty coffee products and other items as needed
* Prepare and serve a variety of beverage and café menu food items following established food safety guidelines
* Operate cash register and P.O.S. terminals – handle cash according to procedures
* Receive supply orders as per policy
* Maitain cleanliness of service area, work area and equipment
* Perform opening and closing, clean up and procedures as per checklist
* Maintain equipment in accordance with preventative maintenance checklist
* Operate equipment, such as expresso and Panini machines, microwaves, ovens, etc.
* Assist with food prep and serving from our mobile food truck for community events
* Follow all Fraser Health Food Safe guidelines
* Always represent Sources in a professional and efficient manner
START DATE: June 27, 2016
END DATE: August 27, 2016 (9 weeks)
SALARY: $10.45 per hour
